Dr. Caroline Marshall, Consultant Anaesthetist & former COO of the National Health Service in the UK, will be the featured guest in a series of events hosted by PASS & PHC, exploring physician leadership opportunities and strategies to influence PHC’s budget for optimal patient care.

PART 1: How does PHC Budget for Patient Care? Budget Primer Pre-workshop

Thurs. Feb. 20  | 7:30am – 9:30am

  • Hosted by Dr. Moira Stilwell, Ms. Fiona Dalton, and Mr. Brian Simmers: Open to all with little to extensive budgeting knowledge, this pre-workshop will provide an overview to help physicians understand PHC’s budget and how funding flows. This session will be useful for those attending the in-depth workshop on February 22.

PART 2: From Anaesthetist to Chief Operating Officer: How and Why? with Dr. Marshall- Physician Leadership Dinner Presentation and Social

Thurs. Feb 20 | 5:30pm – 8:30pm

  • Hear about the key skills and knowledge Dr. Marshall obtained, how she obtained them, and how they facilitated her transition from anaesthetist to COO. Physicians will have the opportunity to explore this leadership pathway in this exciting session a part of the Distinguished Speakers Dinner Series.

PART 3: Budget Skill Building Workshop:  Half day workshop with Dr. Marshall, Ms. Dalton, Dr. Stilwell and PHC leaders 

Sat. Feb 22 | 8:00am – 12:00pm

  • Learn the fundamentals of budgeting using physician- driven case-based scenarios. Attendees will explore how to eliminate unnecessary spending and create cost savings.
