Mobilizing health system sustainability through greenhouse gas estimation
Objective: An increasing number of healthcare organizations and health systems in Canada and internationally are working to estimate the full scope of their greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), both directly and indirectly controlled. In this session with Clemence Marty-Chastan and Stephan Williams, we explore what organizations can gain from such efforts, while carefully considering the limitations of GHG emissions’ estimation as a tool for driving health system change.

Operationalizing healthcare sustainability at program level
Objective: Between high level strategy at provincial level, and front-line change within organizations, lie programmatic change initiatives – working health system-wide with a clinical sector. In this session you will hear from two sustainability leaders, David Smith and Caroline Stigant, as they share their processes, insights, and challenges in guiding and operationalizing the sustainability agenda at the program level and beyond.
