- Learn about current issues and the impact of COVID-19 on Indigenous populations in BC and across the country, and what responses have been helpful.
- Understand current public and population health management, policies, and challenges in an Indigenous context.
- Learn cultural safety and humility commitments by various stakeholders, including in medical education, health authorities, and federal health partners.
- Discuss anti-Indigenous racism and health, including Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond’s “Addressing Racism In BC Health Care” report, and, in response to the death of Joyce Echequan, the Government of Canada’s recent “Report of the Urgent Meeting on Racism experienced by Indigenous Peoples in Canada’s Health Care System”.
