COVID-19 Through a Quality Lens: Critical Care – Emerging Networks and Tools to Improve Care
- This event has passed.
The emergence of COVID-19 in BC forced Intensive Care Units (ICUs) across the province to quickly plan for and adapt to an anticipated surge in cases and increased workload associated with new protocols. By utilizing a system-level response to this pandemic, mortality related to COVID-19 in critically ill patients in BC is dramatically lower (15.4%) than other global studies have shown (up to 26% in some jurisdictions). The development of a new network to facilitate sharing of clinical data, and the creation of COVID-19 monitoring and decision-making tools are two strategic approaches that have contributed to improved clinical outcomes.
In this webinar you will learn how:
- Provincial collaboration improved the critical care response to COVID-19;
- A common purpose helped overcome traditional silos and establish new partnerships; and
- Open sharing of information improved clinical practice and the availability of resources.
